Celebrity Waiters Dinner to Fight Blood-related Cancers

Local ‘celebrities’ like Misty from 95.1 KTTI and Russ Egan from Star 100.9 will serve up dinner and fun at this spoof on formal dining, Friday, May 16, at 5:30 p.m. at the Yuma Golf and Country Club. This benefit dinner, auction, and entertainment will make needed funds available for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and Hodgkins patients in Yuma County and help further The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society-funded research in Arizona. It’s the 22nd annual APS/Pacesetter Homes Celebrity Waiters Dinner, LEI ALOHA, and honors two decades of volunteerism of Laurie Houston.  Entertainment provided by Hui ‘O Hawai’i of Yuma.

Title Sponsor’s Scott Takinen, of APS, states “We have been supporting this event for nearly a decade, and meeting patients assisted by the funds we raised warms me to know we have gone beyond just providing hope and are finding successful treatments for blood cancers.”

Gold Sponsor is Fisher Automotive, and Silver Sponsors are Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Yuma Regional Medical Foundation, and Westerner Products. Auction items include stays in numerous destinations, including San Antonio, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C.; furniture from Houston’s Yuma Furniture Galleries; one week in a 2-bedroom condo in Sedona; and much more.

Call The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society offices at 1-800-568-1372, ext. 12. Tables of 8 are $480. Individual tickets are $60 each, or $75 at the door.
