2 men dead in Yuma, and 5 other taken to local hospital from being shot

YUMA — Two people in Yuma are dead and 5 others were taken to local hospitals and later flown to major hospitals for being shot at a party.
The people at the party knew each other and police say about over 30 rounds were fired. The homeowners were not at the house when this party happened but were contacted and fully cooperated. Several weapons were recovered at the scene and are awaiting forensics testing.
Police in Yuma say the incident happened around 11 at night, when they were called about shots being fired. There were several off duty law enforcement officers in the area that assisted with this incident.
According to police, a 19 year old Danny Garcia was shot and taken to YRMC when he later died. A 20 year old Ande Blackthunder, was taken by Yuma Fire to YRMC, where he later died.
A teen was taken to a local hospital where he was later flown to Phoenix with life-threatening injuries. The other gunshot victims, men ages 15, 19, 18, and 16, had non-life threatening injuries. There were a total of 7 victims treated at YRMC.
Police say at this time, the investigators are trying to determine a motive. However, this does not appear to be a random act. We have investigative leads that our detectives are looking into.
Police have been thanking the off-duty personnel who assisted in this incident. They were an off-duty California Highway Patrolman, an off-duty YPD detective, two off-duty Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents, and the wife of one of those agents, who is a nurse.
