Former gang member arrested by border agents in Yuma

YUMA — A gang member and convicted felon has been arrested by border agents in Yuma. The illegal migrant was arrested for entering the U.S. from Mexico. Miguel Angel Arellano Marez, 25 of Mexico, was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon in Santa Barbara, California.
He served three years in prison, which was enhanced for being involved in the Sureños criminal street gang. After completing his sentence, Marez was removed from the U.S. Marez will be prosecuted for re-entry of a removed alien and faces more time behind bars.
