Main Library in Yuma announces new storytimes programs for September

YUMA — Children of all ages and teens are invited to the Main Library for storytime, programs, and fun! There is no charge to attend.
Please note, the Main Library will be closed Monday, September 4th, for Labor Day.
Friday, September 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th @ 10:00 a.m.
Monday, September 11th, 18th, 25th @ 10:00 a.m.
Storytime
Enjoy stories, songs, and fun activities at our weekly storytime! This program is best suited to ages 5 and younger, but all are welcome. Seating is limited.
Saturday, September 2nd @ 10:00 a.m.
Little Artists
Little ones can learn about the fine arts too! Come in for a special art program for kids 2-6 years old. Supplies will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis while they last. Limited seating.
Tuesday, September 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th @ 6:30 p.m.
Evening Storytime
Enjoy stories, songs, and fun activities at this evening storytime session. This program is best suited to ages 2-6, but all are welcome. Seating is limited.
Wednesday, September 6th & 20th @ 3:00 p.m.
Barks & Books
Children ages 6-12 are invited to sign up to read to one of our friendly guide dogs, Bella and Gabriel! Space is limited; sign up begins at 9am at the Youth Services desk on the day of the program.

BabyTime
Children ages 2 and younger can enjoy songs, rhymes, stories, and playtime! For newborns to crawlers. Seating is limited.

Salt Dough Starfish
Discover why starfish are unique and special creatures while creating your own salt dough starfish following recipe instructions. Ages 13-17 welcome. Seating is limited. Supplies will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis while they last.

Anime Club

Dance your cares away and compete for top dancer in this fun PS4 tournament. Ages 13-17 welcome. Space is limited.

Brain Games
Give your noggin a workout while meeting new friends in this team-based challenging program. This program is for kids ages 6-12 and their caregivers aged 16 and older. Supplies will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis while they last. Seating is limited.

Deadbolt Mystery: Prison Break
Can you solve the mystery of this prison break? Join us for an “escape room in a box” experience like no other. Solve puzzles, work as a team and uncover clues using QR codes, audio clips and more. Ages 13-17 welcome. Seating is limited.

¡Viva Piñata!
Celebrate Mexican Independence Day with us by learning the lore of the piñata, then create your own mini piñata to fill up and take home! Return to the Moon (and Build a Space Colony)
Learn about NASA returning to the Moon to build a space colony. Then join others to build one of your own! All ages welcome.

The Floor is Lava!
The floor is lava and it’s your job to save everyone in this fun group STEAM engineering challenge that requires problem solving and team work. Lego Club
Ages 8-12 are invited to participate in a different building theme and activity at our architecture-based Lego Club.

3D Modeling for Teens
Learn how to use TinkerCad online to design STL files for 3D printing. We will even print out your masterpiece once you are finished. Ages 13-17 welcome. Seating is limited to first 12 teens.
