04 Jul Woman in Yuma dead after being shot, investigation continuing

YUMA — Deputies in Yuma County has received a 911 call around 12 in the morning about shots being fired in the area of the 2800 Block of W. 1st Street.
When deputies arrived they found a woman who was shot multiple times and was unresponsive. Deputies performed initial life-saving measures until Rural Metro Fire Department arrived and continued to render medical aid. However, the woman died on the on scene.
Deputies identified the woman as Christian Galindo, 31, of Yuma, AZ.
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau responded and assumed the investigation.
Preliminary investigation revealed the victim had been inside her residence when struck by a stray bullet. This investigation remains ongoing at this time.
