YUMA — The fire department in Yuma has been informing the community that they are ready for summer. The department has been training under water.
With the summer season comes dangers the City of Yuma Fire Department must train for. Canal rescues, river rescues, and pool drownings are all part of the YFD water rescue training program.
Yuma fire informs locals to remember this summer – check door alarms and keep pool latches and doggie doors closed. Keep an eye on young children at all times when near water.
“Teach your children to swim at an early age. If you’re going to drink alcohol and swim please do so responsibly. If you’re enjoying the Colorado River, know the river is constantly changing including the depth and obstacles underneath the surface. Rest assured though – the City of Yuma Fire Department is ready to help this summer when it matters most,” says the Yuma Fire Department.
