Yuma Fire receives mechanical continuous chest compression machine

YUMA — Yuma fire has been acquired an additional mechanical continuous chest compression machine that has been issued to Engine 6 at Fire Station #6, located in the southwest area of the city.
All of the YFD ambulances currently have these devices issued to them, that have proven to give effective continuous chest compressions to patients experiencing cardiac arrest.
Statistics show that people will experience fatigue after 1 minute of performing chest compressions. This is a great addition to the fire truck, as it allows personnel to focus on other life-saving critical tasks without going through the physical fatigue associated with chest compressions.
YFD currently owns 7 of these machines that are placed strategically throughout the city.
